How do I know if my child's growth is normal?
A child's growth is normal when it follows a steady curve on a standard growth chart over time — not when it matches other children. A single measurement means little; the trend across months means everything. A child crossing downward through growth-chart lines, or a genuinely falling appetite with low energy, warrants a pediatric growth assessment.

Understanding
Why Children Grow Slowly or Eat Poorly
Normal variation — small parents usually have smaller children growing perfectly on their own curve
Picky eating and grazing — milk and snacks all day leave no appetite for meals
Iron deficiency — extremely common, and it suppresses appetite, creating a vicious circle
Recurrent infections stealing calories
Undiagnosed issues: celiac disease, thyroid, urinary infections, worms
Genuinely inadequate intake despite parents' best efforts — fixable with structure, not force
Our approach
How We Care for Your Child at Siraa Health
Plot, don't panic
We plot every past record on WHO/IAP growth charts. The curve tells us instantly whether this is variation or a problem.
Look for the thief
If growth has genuinely faltered, we hunt the cause — iron deficiency, celiac, thyroid, recurrent infection — with targeted tests.
A real-food plan
A practical Indian-kitchen nutrition plan with calorie-dense, iron-rich foods your child will actually eat. No tonics, no magic powders.
Fix the mealtime, not just the meal
Structured meals, no grazing, no screens, no force-feeding — the behavioural half of nutrition that diets ignore.

Evidence-based care
Every decision guided by the latest pediatric science

What families say
“Our son was not saying a single word at 2.5. Within four months at Siraa he was putting two and three words together. The parent coaching made the biggest difference.”

DLF Phase 4
“We were told to wait and see. We did not, and I am so glad. The therapist identified exactly what was holding him back. Six months later he is chatting non-stop.”

Sohna Road
“What sets Siraa apart is that they treat you as a partner, not just a parent dropping off a child. Every session I left feeling more capable and less worried.”

Questions
What parents usually ask us
My child is thinner than classmates. Is something wrong?+
Not necessarily. Children have different builds and genetic potentials. What matters is steady progress along their own growth-chart curve. If your child is energetic, developing well and tracking their curve, thin is simply their normal.
Do growth tonics and protein powders work?+
No syrup or powder makes a child grow beyond their potential. Most 'appetite tonics' either do nothing or contain appetite stimulants with side effects. Money is far better spent on eggs, dal, nuts and ghee — and on fixing mealtime habits.
How much milk should my toddler drink?+
After the first birthday, about 400–500 ml a day is enough. More than that fills the stomach, suppresses appetite for iron-rich solid food, and is a leading cause of both picky eating and anemia in toddlers.
When should picky eating worry me?+
Picky eating is a normal toddler phase. It warrants assessment when the child's growth curve falters, energy is low, the accepted food list keeps shrinking below ~15 foods, or mealtimes involve daily battles and force-feeding.
