Which vaccination schedule should my baby follow in India?
Children in India should follow the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) immunization schedule, which covers vaccines from birth (BCG, Hepatitis B, OPV) through adolescence. Your pediatrician adapts it to your child, catches up missed doses safely, and adds seasonal vaccines like the annual flu shot where appropriate.

Understanding
Why On-Time Vaccination Matters
Vaccines protect before exposure — delays leave gaps at the ages when diseases hit hardest
Combination vaccines mean fewer pricks, not weaker protection
Painless (acellular) options reduce fever and soreness for several vaccines
Missed doses rarely need restarting — catch-up schedules exist for almost every vaccine
Herd protection: your child's shot also protects newborn siblings and grandparents

Parent stories
What families say
“Our son was not saying a single word at 2.5. Within four months at Siraa he was putting two and three words together. The parent coaching made the biggest difference.”

DLF Phase 4
“We were told to wait and see. We did not, and I am so glad. The therapist identified exactly what was holding him back. Six months later he is chatting non-stop.”

“What sets Siraa apart is that they treat you as a partner, not just a parent dropping off a child. Every session I left feeling more capable and less worried.”

Questions
What parents usually ask us
Can I vaccinate my baby if they have a cold?+
Usually yes. A mild cold or low-grade fever is not a reason to delay vaccination. Your pediatrician will examine your child first; only moderate-to-severe illness warrants postponing.
Are painless vaccines as effective as painful ones?+
Painless (acellular pertussis) vaccines protect well and cause less fever and soreness. Standard (whole-cell) vaccines may give somewhat longer-lasting pertussis protection. Both are safe and IAP-approved — we'll help you choose.
What if we've missed several doses?+
Don't restart — catch up. Almost every vaccine series can be resumed from where it stopped. Bring whatever records you have and we'll build a safe catch-up plan.
Are combination vaccines safe for small babies?+
Yes. Combination vaccines like the 6-in-1 are extensively tested, reduce the number of pricks, and do not overload a baby's immune system — which handles thousands of germs every day.
Does my child need the flu vaccine every year?+
The IAP recommends an annual flu vaccine for children from 6 months of age, ideally before the season. Flu strains change yearly, so last year's shot doesn't cover this year's viruses.
